廣告學專業創建于1993年,是廣西高校中最早設立的廣告學本科專業,并開創了全國同類藝術院校設置廣告學專業的先河。在20多年的建設發展中,廣告學系逐步打造出“學科交叉、創意引領、關注媒介、知行合一”的廣告人才培養特色:著重培養學生廣告策略和設計審美交叉綜合發展的應用能力;堅持以創造性思維訓練作為基礎特色,增強學生創意能力和廣告整體運作能力;執行媒介實戰化教學,引導學生運用各種媒介進行廣告運營實戰;形成了以CIGE(Create創新、Interwork互通、Group團隊、Effect實效)為核心,以項目式教學與畢業設計社會化為雙翼的整合實效教學模式,為廣告學、傳播學與廣告行業、傳媒行業的發展作出了自己應有的貢獻。
廣告學專業現下設(廣告創意設計、互動廣告設計、廣告策劃、媒體創意)等本科專業方向,并具有現代廣告設計、廣告策劃創意、新媒體藝術研究碩士專業方向。廣告學專業先后獲得了國家級特色建設專業、自治區級優質專業,廣告教學團隊獲得了自治區級優秀教學團隊稱號。
廣告學系主要培養各級媒體、高等院校、企事業單位、廣告公司、設計團體、網絡公司、出版社,從事品牌傳播、信息創意傳播、廣告設計和制作、媒介經營管理等方面工作的高級應用型創新人才。

Introduction to “The Department of Advertising”

The advertising major was established in 1993, the first undergraduate major in Guangxi, which also set an example for other arts college throughout the country. During its more than 20 years' development, “The Department of Advertising” gradually forms the advertising talent training characteristics: "Interdisciplinary, Creativity first, pay attention to medium, and combine theory with practice". It focuses on cultivating the students' application ability of comprehensive development in both advertising strategy and designing aesthetics, sticks to the elementary feature of creative thinking training, enhances their creativity and the whole operation ability of advertising. The department also carries out medium practical teaching, guiding students to apply various media to advertising operation. It forms a practical teaching mode with the core of CIGE(Create, Interwork, Group, Effect), and the two wings of program teaching and socializing the graduation design, which makes a great contribution to the development of advertising discipline and training excellent talents in advertising.
“The Department of Advertising” has advertising major and other four undergraduate majors: creativity designing in advertising, designing of interacting advertising, advertising planning, and media creativity. It also has three postgraduate majors: designing in modern advertising, creativity in advertising planning, study on new media arts. The advertising major has become national level characteristic major, regional level excellent major; its advertising teaching team has won the title of regional excellent teaching group.
“The Department of Advertising” mainly trains advanced applied and creative talents, working in brand communication, information and creativity communication, advertising design and production, media management, for various media, college, enterprises, public institutions, advertising agencies, design team, network company and the press.
